Complex Rhinoplasty

Complex Rhinoplasty

A simple Rhinoplasty is an intricate procedure and sometimes it can go wrong because of various reasons. Complex Rhinoplasty is performed in two cases, the first one is when the previous Rhinoplasty has gone wrong and the second is when rhinoplasty is performed with other procedures to balance the aesthetic features of the face.

Revision complex Rhinoplasty can be used to correct various problems such as obstruction in the airways, deviated septum treatment causing crookedness of the nose, too thin or too high nose as a result of Rhinoplasty, bleeding in nose, numbness in areas around nose ,nasal asymmetry etc. Complex Rhinoplasty can help correct these problems but since it is a second surgery it has to be done with careful precision and under expert guidance.

The second type of complex Rhinoplasty is done together with other procedures for the face to preserve and augment aesthetic and functional aspects. These include:

Septo Rhinoplasty

Septo Rhinoplasty is a combination of septoplasty and rhinoplasty. The two are often combined together since both are concerned with the nose. Septoplasty corrects the deviated nasal septum and is usually performed from inside the nostrils. The septo Rhinoplasty takes about one to four hours to complete. Septo Rhinoplasty gives the surgeon the ability to work on the functional and aesthetic part of the nose together and give more comprehensive results. The corrected septum gives the nose a straight look and at the same time Rhinoplasty lets the surgeon correct various other features of the nose such as the width, shape, width of the nostrils etc.

Cleft lip Rhinoplasty

The cleft lip is a congenital condition. It can be unilateral or bilateral. It can only be performed after the age of four when the child has attained some maturity. Cleft lip correction along with Rhinoplasty is considered to be very challenging procedure because it involves work on the skin, cartilage, bones and the septum. The deformed lip and deformed nose both can be worked up in this surgical procedure and it is done under local or general anaesthesia.

Extracorporeal Septo Rhinoplasty for Crooked Nose

Extracorporeal Septo Rhinoplasty for Crooked Nose is used to correct severely deviated septum. Form and the function of the nose are both affected by the deviated septum.  Simple septoplasty is not enough to correct the nasal septal deformities. These deformities can be because of trauma, old surgeries or congenital malformation.  Only the Extracorporeal Septo Rhinoplasty for Crooked Nose can help correct and give the patient a straight septum.  Surgeons use various techniques such as use of splints and speeder grafts to keep the septum straight and cartilages stable. The process is generally performed under general anaesthesia.

Middle Vault Collapse

Middle vault collapse of the nose can be because of previous Rhinoplasty. Complex Rhinoplasty surgery is used to correct the middle vault collapse. The weakening of the lateral cartilage and septum can cause a v shaped deformity of the nose. Middle vault collapse is corrected with the use of spreader grafts. The grafts are taken from the septum itself but if it is not available because of previous surgeries then a graft from the ear can be used.

Saddle Nose

Saddle nose deformity gives the nose a saddle like dip to the nose from the side view. The saddle nose deformity can occur because of many reasons such as trauma, previous surgeries in which too much of cartilage has been removed and cocaine abuse. Saddle nose deformity can be corrected with the help of complex Rhinoplasty. Cartilage grafting is the common technique used to correct the saddle nose deformity. Reshaping of the nasal bridge is the prime concern of saddle nose deformity through complex Rhinoplasty.

Augmentation Rhinoplasty

Augmentation Rhinoplasty is another common form of complex Rhinoplasty.  It is mostly needed when the patient is unhappy with the previous surgery results. Augmentation Rhinoplasty is a form of complex Rhinoplasty which is also done in order to correct any deformities that might arise because of functional corrections in the nose.

Complex Rhinoplasty involves many techniques and the expertise of an experienced surgeon to give patient the desired results comfortably.
